Christophe Desgouttes is a French visual artist whose path combines fine arts, animation, writing, and digital technologies.

He began his artistic training in 1985 at the École des Beaux-Arts in Annecy (specializing in animation, at the Annecy Animation Workshop), earned his D.N.S.E.P. (National Higher Diploma in Visual Expression) in 1991 at the École Nationale d’Art in Dijon, and completed a degree in Fine Arts in 1992 at the University of Paris VIII.

From 1992 to 1996, he took part in various group exhibitions in Paris and internationally (Salon de la Jeune Peinture, Salon de Montrouge, Zekou Gallery, Artsennal, 59 Rivoli…), gradually shifting his practice toward digital media and computing from 1997 onward. In 1999, he launched a virtual studio on the web—an open space for artistic research and experimentation combining drawing, visual storytelling, video, and code.

Between 2004 and 2007, he attended evening classes offered by the City of Paris, where he trained in programming fundamentals (C, Java, algorithms) and project management (PERT/Gantt). In 2015, he added to his technical training with a course at Gobelins on narrative structure and editing techniques.

From 1998 to 2014, he worked in the marketing research field at the company Repères, where he developed innovative digital tools: online surveys, consumer panels, qualitative blogs, CRM systems, and video capture tools. He founded and led the company’s web department until 2014.

In 2016, he created DAGOPROD, an independent structure dedicated to visual and digital creation. Since 2021, he has focused more closely on his personal practice, developing the Dago universe, a world between micro and macro, surrealism, drawing, and experimentation.

His recent projects include:

Lorenum (2022), a film composed of sketches edited live and randomly in real time

Flea Market (2025), live montage of found footage, with sound and music generated by a JavaScript program

A series of books combining drawings, absurd poetry, and collaboration with artificial intelligence:
- Ant, AI and the Poetry of Disorder
- 34 Fragments of Eternity
- Fragments of Nothing, Thoughts of Everything

Visual objects and printed works shared online (Redbubble, 2024)

Christophe Desgouttes continues to pursue an independent approach—at the intersection of drawing, code, video, and writing—through an open and experimental lens.
